As anyone who has watched the past seasons of The Rachel Zoe Project know, Rachel literally (definition Rachel’s not the real definition is an objective reality), lives and breathes for the awards shows. The first episode of season three was surprisingly free of any red carpet machinations, but ran into the Golden Globes face-first last night.
There were dresses! And the problems! And late components! It is now clear that the show would be no narrative at all, because I think everyone really watch to see Birkins Rachel and Brad ridiculous dresses and dancing around and trying on clothes. They could just do this for an hour every week and I still watch, as they will not have to worry about heavy-handedly trying to remind us that Rodger is football loving, beer-drinking, straight dudebro. None of us do not care – more Van Cleef, please.
Of course things started with a shopping trip to Fred Segal, but Rachel was not feeling shopportunistic as usual drama because of the upcoming Golden Globes. This does not shopping did not happen, though – of course he did. Rachel finally managed to get out of unfair plush bathrobe (do this live in a hotel?) And appeared to find new looks for a “new beginning” with Brad, who thinks he should be butch things up a bit. I disagree – I love how delightfully un-lesbian Brad is, what with his bow tie and glasses retro. It works for him. For its part, Rachel is getting a bob for about a second and a half, but rightly concluded that this would be a great idea.
